Levi doesn't strike me as a bad guy. Not that he hasn't made some bad judgment calls lately, but he's eighteen and stupid. Having said that I think he's being used, and the sooner he wakes up to that fact the better.
Somebody said that they didn't get too many bad vibes off of Levi, but his mom and sister raised a red flag. I agree. I think Levi could have been alot harsher than he actually has been. I just think he's kinda dense and doesn't realize that the people around him aren't really in this for him and his son, but to get at the Palins. And those people include his own family.
There was a moment in the Larry King interview when his sister was saying something about Bristol and Levi countered it, but the sis quickly covered up the tracks to let the bad impression stay.
Levi, wake up. The sooner you drop these characters and actually work with the mother of your child, the sooner Bristol will actually trust you and let you spend more time with that child. What you're doing now is counter-productive to your stated goals and is only playing right into the hands of those who called you and your family white trash in the first place. They're not your friends; they're using you.
Sorry if that isn't as hard-hitting against Levi as it could be, but as someone else said, sometimes we conservatives are just too reactionary. I wasn't too thrilled over the knee-jerk reaction alot of right-leaning blogs had to immediately slam Levi. He's not the brightest bulb in the box, but he is the father of Bristol's child. Circle the wagons, but don't burn all your bridges. I just hope Levi comes to his senses before it's too late.
UPDATE: Well, Bristol Palin went on some talk shows earlier this month to promote abstinence. The differences between her interviews and Levi's were striking to say the least. For one thing, Bristol used her air time to promote a good cause rather than to whine. For another thing, she avoided numerous opportunities to slam Levi, making her look like a class act, and making Levi look like a punk. All in all, a good day.
