Sarah Palin is not faring so well in the field of public opinion, Gallup finds today, with the former veep dropping to a 40% approval rating since quitting her post as Alaska's governor.Oh, me, oh, my!
A quick word on all these stupid polls that obsess some people. First off, it's way too early for any polls to mean anything. Secondly, I hardly think that a 40% approval rating is "tanking." With the media picture that's been painted of Palin I'm surprised it's not lower.
I don't pay any attention to polls of anybody yet, including Obama. Some conservatives shout with glee over every percentage point Obama loses. Whatever. I don't care. People have very short memories, and what's happening today, won't necessarily matter tomorrow. Hate to break it to you, but that half a point drop isn't really going to be worth beans in 2012.
Oh, and buried somewhere in the comparisons of her and John Edwards is the whispered fact that she still enjoys a 69% approval rating among Republicans and a 41% approval among Independents. Of course, 72% of Democrats hate her guts, but what else is new?
