The Courting of Olympia Snowe had nothing to do with a need for one more vote. The bill passed committee by more than a Snowe margin. The White House was just desperate to get at least one "Republican" on board so that they wouldn't have to own it all themselves. They got the World Famous RINO, and only one, to sign on. Now they can slap themselves on the back for their breathtaking display of bipartisanship. "See, we're team players."
